Golfing Under a Midnight Sun

Golfing Under a Midnight Sun
It's luxurious and curious all at once. In Iceland golf is not an activity reserved for the daytime, during summer it's common to play at night under the spectacular midnight sun. 1f294feb1722f9977b754ebd20975eb4 Arctic Open is hosted by The Akureyri Golf Club. The annual event attracts players from all over the world.

Golf is probably the poshest sport in the world as is - but there's a way to take it a step further on the ladder of exclusivity, and that is golfing during in Iceland under the midnight sun; the far-North phenomenon of almost 24 hours of sunlight.

Icelandic golfers know how to put this unique natural marvel to good use, and most golf courses are open non-stop during the summer months. We can't think of a better way to get a unique, sporty-luxe travel experience.

For the experienced golfer, the chance to give midnight sun golfing a real shot is present every June, where The Arctic Open takes place - an around the clock golf tournament in mid-summer at high latitudes. Personally, we're probably better off cheering from the sidelines for that one and go for the amateur session the next couple of seasons. But we're more than ready to pull on checkered slacks, polo shirt and colourful socks, and give it our best swing. It's "Fore" galore in Iceland this summer!
